About Kim's Fun Science
Kim Bolden is part of the GAK Team, which she and
SCIENCE children's author, Janice VanCleave created. Janice has 52
published books. With fifteen foreign translations and sales exceeding
two million copies, kids and educators around the world are using Janice's
books to have fun as they learn about SCIENCE. While Janice provides
foundational materials, kids, educators and independent presenters, such as
Kim, contribute ideas. The result of this sharing of information are
ideas for SCIENCE demonstrations, class activities and kid projects that are
FUN! EXCITING! and ACTUALLY WORK!
Kim and Janice's objective in founding the GAK Team is to grow a membership
of kids, educators, and presenters with a common desire to learn and
discover more about the world around us. SCIENCE is the tool used to
facilitate the objective for GAK members to feel like they are part of
something important and inspiring. Thus the name, GAK - GET AHEAD
KIDS.
While GAK Team is new, Kim's love for SCIENCE isn't. Maybe being
Janice VanCleave's granddaughter has something to do with Kim's fascination
with SCIENCE. Kim has lots of fun stories about visits to Granny's
farm, including talking to spiders. Kim's desire to provide similar
experiences for her own children resulted in her being the catalyst that
initiated the idea for the GAK Team and as well as to accelerate its
progress.
